u have to go down to go up, lik a sin graph
week 32
Hello hello
New week.
Alright. Let’s get into it.
First of all
~60 ppl saw the newsletter, idk maybe i look sexy in that photo or title worked
but it’s crazy numbers from my previous newsletter
but yeah thanks bro lol
ps: me before giving presentation about my app
The Fever
bro like istg half of the week i had such a crazy fever but still i had to work, it’s sad i couldn’t go gym for like almost a week, but we’re back
I was so down like for three days, I figured out the yap i was doing in last semester wasn’t because i was working too hard, but my lil bitch ass got cold because of the changing weather
Hackathon
(i ai generated this i am lazy)
Bro this was such a different experience.
I went to this invite only hackathon that ran for around eight to ten hours by CerebralValley.com x Google DeepMind. None of my friends got selected, so I just went alone. I ended up meeting three seniors from my college and formed a team with them on the spot.
The vibe was insane. There were corporate folks judging and mentoring us. The theme was multilinguality, and we built a small AI powered website for lawyers with multi language support for contracts, mainly for people who struggle to understand legal documents. It was simple, focused, and meaningful.
We did not win, but listening to the winners genuinely shifted my mindset. Their ideas were so simple yet so powerful. Things like video generation tools, Python based explainers for physics and math, even a transcript tool converting English to Tamil to Telugu. Nothing crazy complicated. Just one clear idea executed really well.
That day taught me something important. In hackathons your idea does not need to be massive or stuffed with features. It just needs to solve one real problem properly. Simplicity with strong execution wins.
I actually wrote a thoughtful post about this whole experience on LinkedIn because I have been trying to take it more seriously lately. It ended up getting a good amount of likes, which felt great. More than that, it made me realize how powerful it is to share your journey publicly. You reflect on what you learned, and at the same time people start noticing the work you are putting in.
Definitely trying to be more consistent with it now.
BARF
if u haven’t read previous newsletter, then WTF U DOING GO READ THAT, i was talking about a VR research project I am part of, i kinda slacked off because i had crazy fever + my exams are coming really really soon
but the guy i am working under has divided work nicely for every member, so ig i have no choice but to the work
sed life
MentorEdge
mentoredge is going pretty good, we have build nice website in like 3 days, for rest of the days i worked hard to make UI better so it doesn’t look like some random vibe coded app
Okay this was actually crazy 😭
We were testing our app with around 150 to 200 people. First time ever running it in front of such a big crowd. Pressure was insane.
Right when people started trying to log in, Supabase hit us with rate limiting. Everything just froze at the worst possible moment. For like ten minutes straight we genuinely thought it was over. That feeling of we are done was very real.
Somehow we tracked the issue and fixed it.
Then someone random nigga started trying SQL injection attacks and our mobile app crashed. At that point it just felt unreal. But we managed to patch that too.
Honestly one of the most stressful ten minutes ever. Proper scary experience.
Paper Viewer
also random side note i made a quick website for my first peeps to see the first year midsem papers easily, it was not there for them so like i kinda vibe coded it for them
else i am working on many small small things like this random instagram algo i started researching about after reading about this https://paraschopra.github.io/explainers/recco/index.html
if u see it carefully, you’ll see i am much more into cooking an in my feed it’s showing just cooking, but it’s also trying to show comedy or music it’s so cool, i have so cra
but yeah if i make it into big then lesgo
bye bye
